WEB GEMS- Top 1st: Charlie Dexter robbed Willie Keeler of a Homerun!

Bert Cunningham allowed Fred Clarke to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game as the Louisville Colonels beat the Baltimore Orioles by a score of 9 to
6.

Louisville had the game winning rally in the 8th inning with 3 runs on 2 hits.
After an out was recorded, Dummy Hoy initiated the scoring spurt when he
laced a base-knock. After another out, Doc McJames then uncorked a pitch
that was ruled a passed ball. Claude Ritchey then drew a walk. Charlie
Dexter followed and he doubled, and an error was also committed, driving in
three runs. Louisville finished with 11 hits in the victory.

The victory was credited to Cunningham(6-9) who went the distance, allowing 6
runs. The loss was charged to McJames(14-5). He got hammered, allowing 11
hits and 5 walks in 8 innings.

'It's been a rough ride lately, but this was a good win for us' said Clarke,
'Maybe this will put us back on track.'
