Jim Hughey was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game as the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the New York Giants by the score of
5 to 3 at Robison Field.

St. Louis scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning.  After an out was
recorded, John McGraw was the sparkplug when he drew a walk.  Ed Doheny then
let one get away for a wild pitch.  Jesse Burkett then cracked a two-run
shot.  St. Louis and New York each finished the afternoon with 7 hits.

Hughey(2-3) got the victory, allowing 3 runs for the game. Doheny(1-9) ended
up with the loss.  He surrendered 5 runs and 7 hits in 8 innings.
