Solly Hofman had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Chicago Cubs bested the
Cincinnati Reds in 10 innings 7 to 5 at Palace of the Fans.

Both teams were tied at 5 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally, Chicago
prevailed in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Peaches Graham
began the Chicago spurt when he doubled. Wilbur Good followed and he reached
on an error. Jimmy Sheckard was the next batter, but he struck out. Frank
Schulte stepped in and he drew a walk to load the bases. Hofman stepped into
the box and drew a walk resulting in a run. Frank Chance kept things alive
and drew a walk scoring the final run of the inning. Chicago had 8 hits for
the afternoon.

The victory was credited to King Cole(6-3) who went 1/3 of an inning, allowing
no runs. Lew Richie gained credit for his 1st save. The loss was charged to
Art Fromme(10-4) in relief. He was a hard-luck loser as he did not allow an
earned run in his 1 inning of work.
