Slim Sallee was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Cincinnati Reds by a score
of 8 to 7.

St. Louis took the lead for good in the 7th inning scoring 2 runs using 2
hits.  Mike Mowrey started the inning off right when he was hit by a pitch.
Ed Konetchy came next and he drew a walk.  Steve Evans then stroked a
base-hit to load the bases.  Arnold Hauser was next to the plate, but was
promptly struck out.  After another out, Ivey Wingo stepped up to the plate
and he smacked a single driving home two runs.  Cincinnati could do no damage
in the bottom of the 9th.  

Sallee(7-8), allowing 7 runs for the game, picked up the victory. The losing
pitcher was George Suggs(4-10).  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 12 hits and
3 walks in 9 innings.
