At Fenway Park the Boston Red Sox easily handled the Pittsburgh Pirates by the
score of 9 to 5.

The game started off with Boston taking the lead in the first as they scored 5
runs on 4 base hits.  The key at-bat was by Joe Gordon who brought a roar
from the partisan Fenway Park fans when he popped a two-run clout over the
fence.  Boston finished with 12 hits while Pittsburgh ended up with 7.  

The winning pitcher was Sheldon Jones(2-6) who allowed 4 runs in 7 innings.
Eddie Lopat(3-5) was the loser.  He was pinned with the loss despite not
allowing an earned run in his 5 and 1/3 innings of work.  

Wth the win Boston now has a record of 21-32.  With the loss Pittsburgh now
