In a game at Ebbets Field the Brooklyn Dodgers got by the Washington Nationals
in 10 innings by the score of 9 to 6.

Both teams were tied at 6 runs apiece after nine innings.  Finally, Brooklyn
pulled the game out in the 10th inning.  Stan Lopata led off and keyed the
rally when he reached on an error.  Ray Jablonski was next and he was walked
intentionally.  Eddie Robinson then lofted a three-run bomb giving Brooklyn
the victory and sending the 12,195 home-town fans home happy.  Brooklyn won
despite being out-hit by Washington 15 hits to 9.  

The win went to Clem Labine(5-2) who allowed 1 run in 3 and 2/3 innings. The
losing pitcher was Joe Nuxhall(4-10) in relief.  He allowed 3 runs and 2 hits
in 1 inning.
