Frank Thomas hit 2 doubles as the Chicago-NL Cubs topped the Brooklyn Dodgers
in 12 innings by a score of 5 to 4 at Wrigely Field.

The score was tied at 4 after nine.  Chicago-NL ended up winning it in the
12th inning.  After an out was recorded, Joe Collins drew a walk.  One out
later, Johnny Sain stepped up to the plate and he delivered a single making
Chicago-NL the victors to the delight of the home town faithful.  It was
roller coaster of a game as the lead change hands 5 times.  

Sain(2-0) allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Jim
Hughes(2-3) was the loser in relief.  He allowed 1 run and 1 hit in 1 and 2/3
innings.
