First baseman Ted Kluszewski cracked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Municipal
Stadium as the Cincinnati Reds beat the Kansas City Athletics by the count of
4 to 3.

The Kansas City fans didn't appreciate the big day Kluszewski had. He bombed a
two-run dinger in the 1st inning and clubbed a solo home run in the 7th
inning.  Kansas City had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.  

The winning pitcher was Joe Nuxhall(4-6) who allowed 3 runs in 6 and 2/3
innings. Don Bessent got the save, his 19th.  Larry Jackson(2-7) took the
loss.
