Pittsburgh came up with the deciding runs in the 8th inning plating 2 runs.
After an out was recorded, Jack Leary opened up the rally as he doubled. One
out later, Billy Taylor came up and he drew a walk. George Strief then
reached on an error. Rudy Kemmler was up next and he reached on an error
bringing home two baserunners. Philadelphia threatened in the 9th but their
rally came up short.

was charged to Bill Sweeney(0-2). 'Some losses are harder to take than
others' Juice Latham lamented after the game. 'This was one of them.'
