Dave Rowe completed the game without help from the bullpen and Fred Dunlap had
6 hits and 5 RBI as the St. Louis Maroons clobbered the outmatched Washington
Nationals, 23 to 4.

Dunlap had a big day at the plate.  He doubled in the 1st inning, clubbed a
two-run home run in the 2nd inning, banged out a single bringing home two
baserunners in the 6th inning, slapped a base-hit which scored a run in the
6th inning, slapped a one-base hit in the 9th inning and delivered a base-hit
in the 9th inning.  St. Louis lit up the scoreboard in the 6th inning which
saw them plate 8 runs on 8 hits and the 9th inning which saw them score 8
runs on 9 hits.  St. Louis dominated offensively as they scored in 6
different innings.  

The victory was credited to Rowe(1-0) who went the distance, allowing 4 runs.
Alex Voss(5-5) was the loser.  He allowed St. Louis 23 runs in 9 innings of
work.  

Dunlap was in a good mood after the game, 'I'm just seeing and hitting the
ball real well now.  I made some adjustments last week and they are paying
off.  That's what this game is about. making adjustments as the season goes
along.'
