Bob Caruthers pitched a complete game and catcher Doc Bushong had 2 base hits
at Recreation Park where the St. Louis Browns beat the Louisville Colonels 5
to 2.

St. Louis promptly took the lead in their half of the first scoring a single
run on 2 hits. Arlie Latham lined a one-base hit. Latham stole second with
some aggressive base running. St. Louis continued their aggressive style
with another stolen base. Guy Hecker then fired a sharp breaking ball that
appeared to cross-up the catcher. In any event, it got by him and was ruled
a passed ball scoring the run. St. Louis banged out 9 hits on the afternoon.

Caruthers(17-7) allowed 2 runs on the game. Hecker(12-11) was tagged with the
loss. The St. Louis ballclub's record now stands at a league leading 36-15.
