In a wild and wooly game at South Side Park, the Chicago Pirates finally
topped the Philadelphia Athletics by the score of 11 to 10 in.

Chicago tallied 9 runs in the 4th inning when they had 5 base hits. The key
offensive moment was provided by Mark Baldwin who excited the crowd when he
lined a single plating two runs. Philadelphia had a chance in the 9th but
they came up short.

The winning pitcher was Baldwin(13-7) who allowed 10 runs in 8 and 1/3
innings. Charlie Bartson gained credit for his 1st save. Charlie
Buffinton(8-8) was given the loss. He was a hard-luck loser, pitching 8
innings and not allowing an earned run.

'Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals' said Buffinton after the game. 'We
lost this game today because we didn't follow the instructions every Little
Leaguer hears every day.'
