Bill Hutchison went the distance at South Side Park as the Chicago Colts beat
the Cleveland Spiders by the count of 5 to 3.

Chicago scored 2 runs in the decisive 4th inning.  Cleveland out-hit Chicago 9
to 6, but Chicago ended up with more runs.  

The winning pitcher was Hutchison(12-14) who allowed 3 runs for the game.
Henry Gruber(6-11) was charged with the loss.  He surrendered 6 hits and 3
walks in 8 innings.  

'Wow.  That's about all I can think to say.' said Cap Anson following the
victory.  'If ever a team needed a win, it was us.'
