Cy Young was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game as the Cleveland Spiders defeated the Pittsburg Pirates by a score of 4
to 1 at League Park.

Cleveland came up with the deciding runs in the bottom of the 8th inning with
3 runs using 5 hits. Chief Zimmer led off and started the rally when he
lined a one-base hit. Jimmy McAleer came to the plate and delivered a
base-hit. Chippy McGarr then worked the squeeze play to perfection bringing
in a run. Young was up next and he stroked a single. Jesse Burkett stepped
into the box and singled scoring one more run. One out later, Cupid Childs
stepped up to the plate and he lined a base-hit scoring the final run of the
inning. Both teams finished the game with 8 hits.

Young(12-5) allowed 1 run on the game. Bill Hart(8-7) absorbed the loss. He
gave up 8 hits and 5 walks in 8 innings. Cleveland won for the 6th straight
time. Patsy Tebeau was happy with his team's performance of late - 'They're
playing solid ball right now' he said. 'Let's hope they can stay focused.'
