Chick Fraser tossed a fine 2 hitter at West Side Park as the powerful Chicago
Cubs beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 2 to 1.

The deciding run was scored by Chicago in the bottom of the 8th.  After an out
was recorded, Frank Schulte ripped a base-knock.  Frank Chance next to the
plate and he laced a one-base hit.  Harry Steinfeldt then hit a sacrifice fly
scoring the run.  Chicago totaled 7 hits on the afternoon.  

The win was credited to Fraser(8-3) who went the whole way allowing 1 run.
Lefty Leifield(8-5) ended up with the loss.  He pitched 8 innings and
surrendered 7 hits and 3 walks.
