The Brooklyn Dodgers and the Boston-AL Red Sox locked up in an exciting
one-run game at Washington Park. The final score was the Brooklyn Dodgers 5,
the Boston-AL Red Sox 4 in 10 innings.

The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. Brooklyn won the hard
fought contest in the 10th inning. Mike Mitchell tripled. Rip Williams was
a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Buck Herzog then would hit into a
fielders choice resulting in a mighty exciting win for Brooklyn and the 4,411
home town fans in attendance. Brooklyn finished with 8 hits in the victory.

Doc White(4-2) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. Walter Johnson(15-8)
was the losing pitcher. He surrendered 5 runs and 8 hits in 9 and 1/3
innings.

No one has been able to stop Brooklyn lately as they lengthened their winning
streak to 6 games.
