Hoot Evers went deep and had 3 RBI as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the
dreadful Philadelphia Phillies in 11 innings by a score of 7 to 6 at Forbes
Field.

The score was tied at 6 after nine.  Pittsburgh was victorious in the 11th
inning.  Evers blasted a solo shot giving Pittsburgh the victory as 17,247
happy fans celebrated wildly.  Pittsburgh had 18 hits overall, while
Philadelphia had 13.  

Ewell Blackwell(5-5) got credit for the victory, pitching 3 innings and
allowing no runs. The loss was charged to Dutch McCall(2-3) in relief.
