Al Spalding was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game at South End Grounds as the smoking-hot Boston Red Stockings
beat the Cleveland Forest Citys(C) 12 to 8.

Boston scored 8 runs in the decisive 5th inning when they had 8 base hits.
The highlight belonged to Andy Leonard who excited the crowd when he
delivered a one-base hit plating two runs. Cleveland scored in 5 different
innings, but their shaky pitching kept them from victory.

The victory went to Spalding(20-1) who went the distance allowing 8 runs.
Rynie Wolters(2-5) ended up with the loss. He was not very effective,
surrendering 11 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings.

With the win, Boston continues their noteworthy winning streak.
