Terry Larkin went the distance as the Chicago White Stockings destroyed the
Providence Grays(P) by a score of 19 to 3 at Lake Front Park.

Providence never recovered after Chicago took the lead in the bottom of the
3rd inning when they tallied 5 runs on 3 hits.  That early scoring was all
that Larkin(18-5) needed.  Chicago bats were very productive in the 3rd
inning when they had 5 runs on 3 hits and the 7th inning which saw them score
5 runs on 4 hits.  The Chicago offense was great, scoring in 7 of the 9
innings.  

Harry Wheeler(2-2) was given the loss.  He got hit hard, allowing 16 hits and
4 walks in 8 innings.
