Jersey Bakley reeled off a total of 10 strikeouts and Buster Hoover had 4 hits
and scored 3 times as the Philadelphia Keystones won a dandy at Keystone Park
over the Chicago-Pittsbg Stogies, 10 to 9.

Philadelphia won the game with a run in the 9th inning. After an out was
recorded, Hoover doubled. Jack Clements followed and he reached on an error.
Jerry McCormick then singled making Philadelphia the winners and sending the
798 fans home happy. It was roller coaster of a game as the lead change
hands 7 times.

The winning pitcher was Bakley(11-16) who allowed 9 runs for the game. Hugh
Daily(15-14) was hit with the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering
10 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings.

The Philadelphia fans were thrilled by the performance put forth by Bakley,
but it was clearly his strikeouts that they enjoyed most. 'When he reached 10
strikeouts the fans showed him their appreciation with a loud cheer.' Fergy
Malone said following the game.
