the Kansas City Cowboys by the score of 5 to 3.

Burke(7-10) simply dominated Kansas City. He surrendered only 5 hits and no
walks in 9 innings. Boston rapped out 7 hits for the afternoon.

Ernie Hickman(0-6) was the losing pitcher. He surrendered 5 runs and 7 hits
in 8 innings. Tim Murnane was asked about the performance of Burke, 'He had
his good stuff out there this afternoon. The fans really get into it when
the strikeouts start mounting up - and that seems to give him even more
adrenalin.'
