Chicago-NL scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning when they came up
with 4 base hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Jack Chesbro who
made the crowd come alive when he tripled plating two runs.  For the game
Chicago-NL out-hit Washington 14 to 8.  

The victory was credited to Chesbro(8-8) who went 6 and 1/3 innings, allowing
2 runs. Eddie Plank earned his 6th save.  The loss was charged to Hooks
Wiltse(12-5).  He was unable to control the Chicago-NL offense and allowed 12
