Frank Schulte collected 3 extra-base hits and Larry Cheney tossed a fine 6
hitter at Forbes Field where the Chicago Cubs beat the Pittsburgh Pirates in
14 innings 3 to 2.

Both teams had scored 2 runs after nine full innings. Chicago came out the
victor in the 14th inning.  Tommy Leach tripled.  Vic Saier stepped into the
batter's box and he slapped a one-base hit scoring the run.  The Pittsburgh
offense proved no trouble in the bottom of the 14th.  

Cheney(14-2) allowed 2 runs on the game. Hank Robinson(4-2) was the loser.  He
allowed 3 runs and 13 hits in 14 innings.
