The St. Louis Cardinals cruised to a 8 to 3 victory over the Pittsburgh
Pirates at Forbes Field.

St. Louis jumped on top to stay in the 2nd inning when they came up with 3
runs on 4 hits.  That was all Monk Dubiel(1-0) needed.  Overall St. Louis
out-hit Pittsburgh 12 to 9.  

Joe Dobson(2-8) ended up with the loss.  He was unable to control the St.
Louis offense and allowed 7 hits and 3 walks in 3 innings.
