Right fielder Bud Stewart had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Fenway Park where the
Washington Nationals beat the Boston Red Sox by the score of 6 to 5.

Bob Feller(7-5) labored throughout the game but hung around to record a
victory. He gave up 5 runs in 7 innings and surrendered 2 'round-trippers'.
Boston had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.

Jim Konstanty preserved the game for Feller, recording his his 3rd save. The
loss was charged to Fred Hutchinson(6-7). When questioned about the loss,
Allan Kaufman said, 'The fans got to see an exciting game out there this
afternoon. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it done this time. Next time,
though, we'll be the clubhouse with all the smiles.'
