Fred Goldsmith pitched a complete game and Abner Dalrymple had 4 hits and 3
RBI as the Chicago White Stockings destroyed the Philadelphia Quakers by a
score of 17 to 5 at Lake Front Park.

Dalrymple enjoyed a fine day at the plate.  He cracked a solo homerun in the
1st inning, ripped a base-knock in the 5th inning, lined a one-base hit
plating a run in the 6th inning and singled in the 7th inning.  Chicago bats
were hot in the 6th inning which saw them score 5 runs on 4 hits.  Chicago
dominated offensively as they scored in 6 different innings.  

The winning pitcher was Goldsmith(10-7) who allowed 5 runs for the game. Bill
Vinton(0-1) ended up with the loss.  Chicago scored big getting 17 runs off
him in 8 innings.
