Mark Baldwin allowed John Ward to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as
the New York Giants bested the St. Louis Browns in 10 innings 9 to 7 at
Robison Field.

The score was knotted at 7 after nine innings.  New York won the hard fought
contest in the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Monte Ward opened up
the rally as he delivered a one-base hit.  Ward took off for second and slid
in with a stolen base.  Mike Tiernan then doubled, and an error was also
committed, scoring two teammates.  New York rapped out 16 hits for the
afternoon.  

Baldwin(10-7), allowing 7 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Kid
Gleason(11-9) absorbed the loss.  He was knocked around by New York, allowing
16 hits and 2 walks in 9 and 2/3 innings.
