Shortstop John Gochnaur had 3 base hits and 3 RBI at Bennett Park as the
Cleveland Bronchos staged a comeback win over the Detroit Tigers by the count
of 8 to 4.

Cleveland erupted with the game winning runs in the top of the 9th inning when
they scored 5 runs on 5 hits.  The highlight belonged to Nap Lajoie who
quieted the crowd when he doubled bringing home two baserunners.  Cleveland
had 17 hits for the afternoon while Detroit had 10.  

Dike Varney(1-0) went 8 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. Ed Siever(4-11)
suffered the loss.  He was unable to control the Cleveland offense and
allowed 17 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings.
