Patsy Flaherty delivered 9 solid innings and center fielder Ginger Beaumont
had 2 base hits as the Pittsburgh Pirates bested the Cincinnati Reds 4 to 3
at Palace Of The Fans.

The game started off with Pittsburgh taking the lead in the first as they
scored 2 runs on 1 base hits.  Cincinnati threatened in the 9th but
Pittsburgh was able to put down the rally.  

The win went to Flaherty(3-4) who allowed 3 runs in the game. Noodles
Hahn(4-6) was charged with the loss.  He pitched 9 innings allowing 8 hits
and 4 walks.
