The Washington Nationals easily topped the ice-cold Cincinnati Reds; the final
score was 7 to 2.

Washington promptly took the lead in their half of the first plating an
isolated run on 2 hits.  After an out was recorded, Jesse Burkett tripled.
Fred Clarke followed and he laced a one-base hit scoring the run.  Washington
had 10 hits for the game and Cincinnati had 7.  

Long Tom Hughes(9-8) got the win allowing 2 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings. Harry
McIntire(5-9) ended up with the loss.  He pitched 5 innings and surrendered
just 3 hits and no walks.
