Larry Schlafly had 2 base hits and 3 RBI and Elmer Stricklett tossed a
complete game as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the awful Philadelphia-AL
Athletics 9 to 1 at Palace of the Fans.

Stricklett(11-8) pitched a solid game.  He was stingy on the mound, allowing
just 5 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings.  Cincinnati managed 15 hits in their
victory.  

Johnny Lush(5-15) was the loser.  He was knocked around pretty good, giving up
5 runs in 4 innings.
