Shortstop Honus Wagner had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Pittsburg Pirates
defeated the Chicago Cubs 5 to 3 at Exposition Park.

Pittsburg went ahead for good in the 7th inning plating an isolated run using
3 hits.  Chicago made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push
the needed runs across.  

The winning pitcher was Vic Willis(8-4) who allowed 3 runs in 8 innings. Lefty
Leifield got the save, his 1st.  Orval Overall(5-3) took the loss.  He struck
out 14 batters in 7 innings despite losing the game.
