Bill Sweeney had a complete game as the Baltimore Monumentals bested the St.
Louis Maroons 10 to 9 at Belair Lot.

Baltimore claimed the early lead in the first inning scoring 2 runners on 2
hits. St. Louis threatened in the 9th but Baltimore was able to put down the
rally.

Sweeney(18-11) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 9 runs. Billy
Taylor(19-8) was the losing pitcher. He was knocked around pretty good,
giving up 10 runs in 8 innings.

Bill Henderson was in a talkative mood in the clubhouse, 'Great game! If only
we could win all of the close ones - wouldn't that be nice! Since that's not
going to happen, I think I'll savor this one for a little while.'
