Shortstop Germany Smith smacked 2 triples and had 2 RBI and Adonis Terry
completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Brooklyn Grays
defeated the Cleveland Blues 7 to 1 at League Park.

Cleveland fell behind quickly as the Brooklyn offense came through in the
first inning with 2 runs.  George Pinkney led off and started the attack as
he tripled.  Bill McClellan stepped into the batter's box and he would ground
out resulting in a run.  Jim McTamany then reached on an error.  McTamany
then stole second base.  Brooklyn continued their aggressive style with
another stolen base.  Ed Swartwood kept the inning going and would ground out
scoring the final run of the inning.  That was all the offense they were to
need.  Brooklyn finished with 8 hits in the victory.  

The victory went to Terry(5-8) who went the distance allowing 1 run. Mike
Morrison(7-12) was hit with the loss.  Wth the win Brooklyn now has a record
of 24-31.  With this loss, Cleveland has a 3-7 record of late, 22-35 overall.
