George Van Haltren slammed 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Dad Clarke allowed
Jack Doyle to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the New York
Giants beat the Baltimore Orioles by a score of 10 to 3.

Van Haltren enjoyed a great day at the plate. Every time he came up in the
latter innings, the crowd was on their feet cheering. He popped a two-run
clout over the fence in the 1st inning, slapped a one-base hit which plated a
run in the 5th inning and blasted a solo shot in the 6th inning. New York
simply wore out the Baltimore pitching staff, scoring in 6 different innings.

Clarke(6-5) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 3 runs. Bill
Hoffer(12-4) was charged with the loss. He served up 3 homeruns in his 8
innings.

New York now has a record of 23-34. With the loss, the Baltimore ballclub's
record is 35-19.
