Nap Lajoie had 3 base hits and Bill Bernhard held Chicago to 3 hits at South
Side Park as the Cleveland Bronchos beat the Chicago White Sox 3 to
1.

Chicago never recovered after Cleveland took the lead in the top of the 6th
inning plating one baserunner utilizing 2 base hits.  Lajoie banged out a
single.  After an out was recorded, Bill Bradley came to bat and slapped a
single scoring the run.  Chicago was set down quietly in the bottom of the
9th.  

Bernhard(7-0) was the winner allowing 1 run for the game. The losing pitcher
was Ned Garvin(8-3).  He was knocked around by Cleveland, allowing 12 hits
and 3 walks in 9 innings.  

'I've been working on a few things in my delivery, and I think I'm hitting a
good groove.' Bernhard said after the game.  'I'm ready to start another game
tomorrow!'
