Bill Phillips had a complete game as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Brooklyn
Superbas 7 to 5 at Palace Of The Fans.

Cincinnati wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning when they came
up with 3 runs on 3 hits.  Even though they scored in 5 different innings,
Brooklyn was not able to pull off the win.  

The victory was credited to Phillips(3-1) who went the distance, allowing 5
runs. The loss was charged to Oscar Jones(11-4).  He allowed 12 hits and 3
walks in 8 innings.  

Wth the win Cincinnati now has a record of 38-20. With the loss, the Brooklyn
ballclub's record is 34-26.
