Mike Lynch tossed a complete game at Exposition Park where the Pittsburgh
Pirates beat the Chicago Cubs in 11 innings by the score of 2 to 1.

Both teams had scored 1 runs after nine full innings.  Pittsburgh won the hard
fought contest in the 11th inning.  Fred Clarke ripped a single.  After an
out was recorded, Kitty Bransfield stepped up to the plate and he slapped a
single.  Jimmy Sebring then slapped a one-base hit giving Pittsburgh the
victory as 7,979 happy fans celebrated wildly.  Both teams finished the game
with 7 hits.  

Lynch(4-0) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 1 run. Buttons
Briggs(3-7) was tagged with the loss.  He allowed 7 hits and 2 walks in 10
and 1/3 innings.
