Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the St. Louis Cardinals by the score of 7 to 5 at
Forbes Field.

Carey provided much of the offense. He clubbed a solo home run in the 3rd
inning and smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 5th inning. Both teams
totaled 9 hits on the afternoon.

Hendrix(2-0) was the winner allowing 5 runs for the game. Bill Steele(9-7) was
the loser. He gave up 9 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings.

'I struggled a bit out there today,' Hendrix said, 'but I toughed it out and
we got the win.'
