Vic Saier had 2 base hits and 4 RBI and Lew Richie completed the game without
help from the bullpen as the dominant Chicago Cubs beat the St. Louis
Cardinals by a score of 12 to 3.

St. Louis was unable to climb back into it after Chicago went ahead for good
in the top of the 2nd inning when they scored 3 runs on 3 hits. The crucial
at-bat was provided by Saier who deflated the spirits of the home town crowd
when he doubled scoring two baserunners. Chicago managed 11 hits in their
victory.

Richie(10-2) allowed 3 runs on the game. Joe Willis(2-4) took the loss.
Chicago knocked him around a bit, as he gave up 7 runs in 5 innings.
