Ad Brennan carried a no-hitter into the 7th inning as the Boston-AL Red Sox
bested the St. Louis-AL Browns 4 to 0 at Sportsman'S Park.

Brennan(5-5) escaped virtually unscathed against the St. Louis-AL hitters. He
didn't allow much, just 2 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings improving his ERA
from 2.25 to 2.04. The left-handed Brennan lost his no-hit bid when Del
Pratt singled with one out in the 7th inning. Boston-AL had 8 hits for the
afternoon.

Art Fromme(2-1) suffered the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 8 hits and 4
walks in 5 and 1/3 innings. Tim Singer was obviously impressed with the
pitching of Brennan, 'That guy made us look a little silly out there this
afternoon. We just couldn't get to him at all - everything was working for
him. I just hope that he got that kinda performance out of his system.'
