Luke Easter hit one over the fence and had 3 RBI and Tommy Byrne tossed a
shutout as the New York-AL Yankees defeated the Washington Nationals 5 to 0
at Griffith Stadium.

Byrne(5-1) gave New York-AL a solid outing.  He was stingy on the mound,
allowing just 6 hits and 4 walks in 9 innings dropping his ERA from 5.24 to
4.50.  New York-AL rapped out 12 hits for the afternoon.  

Warren Spahn(10-8) took the loss.  He was knocked around by New York-AL,
allowing 12 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings.
