Mickey Mantle slammed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Morrie Martin carried a
no-hitter into the 8th inning at Yankee Stadium as the New York-AL Yankees
beat the Chicago-NL Cubs by the count of 6 to 0.

Mantle enjoyed a fine day at the plate.  He blasted a solo shot in the 6th
inning and bombed a two-run dinger in the 7th inning.  New York-AL managed 9
hits in their victory.  

Martin(1-0) was credited with the shutout, his first of the year.  The
left-handed Martin lost a no-hitter when Howie Judson singled with one out in
the 8th inning.  Willie Ramsdell(4-8) was charged with the loss.  He gave up
7 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.
