Elizabeth Resolutes were badly beaten by the Boston Red Stockings, 21 to

Wright enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He lined a one-base hit in the 1st
inning, doubled scoring a run in the 2nd inning, lined a single which plated
a run in the 3rd inning, stroked a base-hit which was good for two runs in
the 4th inning, banged out a single in the 5th inning and lashed a single in
the 8th inning. Boston kept the scorekeepers busy in the 2nd inning which
saw them score 4 runs on 5 hits and the 4th inning which saw them plate 4
runs on 4 hits. The Boston offense man-handled the Elizabeth pitching staff
as they scored in 7 of the 9 innings.
Spalding(15-6) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 6 runs. Frank
