In a thriller the Baltimore Orioles staged a dramatic comeback then held on to
win over the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 7 to 6 at League Park.

Baltimore won the game with a rally in the 9th inning scoring 3 runs utilizing
3 base hits. Boileryard Clarke got things going when he doubled. Wilbert
Robinson was next and he drew a walk. After an out was recorded, Willie
Keeler then lined a single, and an error was also committed, resulting in a
run. Steve Brodie came up and he slapped a single with two more runners
crossing home. The score went back-and-forth with the lead changing 5 times.

Bill Hawke(5-5) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 innings and allowing 6
runs. Hawke got relief help from Tony Mullane who gained credit for his 2nd
save. Frank Dwyer(9-8) was the losing pitcher. He surrendered 7 runs and 9
hits in 8 and 1/3 innings.

'The only way this one could have been better', said Hawke, 'was if we had
played it at home.'
