Jack Clements knocked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Al Orth had a complete game
as the Philadelphia Phillies topped the Boston Beaneaters by a score of 12 to
7 at Baker Bowl.

Clements had a big day at the plate.  He tripled which plated a run in the 2nd
inning, bombed a two-run dinger in the 4th inning and cracked a solo homerun
in the 8th inning.  Philadelphia rapped out 14 hits for the afternoon.  

The winning pitcher was Orth(6-10) who allowed 7 runs for the game. Ted
Lewis(8-5) was the loser.  He was touched for 14 hits and 7 walks in 8
innings.  

Clements was in a good mood after the game, 'I'm just seeing and hitting the
ball real well now.  I made some adjustments last week and they are paying
off.  That's what this game is about. making adjustments as the season goes
along.'
