Left fielder Sammy Strang had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Philadelphia-AL
Athletics defeated the Cincinnati Reds by the score of 8 to 7 at Palace of
the Fans.

Philadelphia-AL won the game with a run in the top of the 9th inning.  Strang
drew a walk.  Strang took off for second and slid in with a stolen base.  Two
outs later Al Bridwell stepped in and he laced a one-base hit scoring the
run.  Both teams finished the game with 14 hits.  

Bill Dinneen(5-9) got the win allowing 1 run in 1 inning. Dinneen got help
from Johnny Lush who earned his 1st save.  Jack Townsend(3-4) suffered the
loss in relief.
