Nationals by a score of 12 to 4 at National Park.

Chicago-NL started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first scoring one runner on 2 hits.  Chicago-NL dominated offensively as
they scored in 6 different innings.  

The win was credited to Rube Benton(1-0) who went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 4
runs. Otto Hess(0-2) was the losing pitcher.  By giving up 11 runs in 7
innings his ERA increased from 3.27 to 7.00.
