WEB GEMS- Top 2nd: Max Carey robbed Frank Snyder of an extra base hit.

Bob Harmon went the distance and shortstop Honus Wagner had 4 hits and 6 RBI
as the Pittsburgh Pirates smashed the overmatched St. Louis Cardinals, 13 to
3.

It was a good day for Pittsburgh thanks to Wagner. He tripled which was good
for two runs in the 1st inning, lined a base-hit bringing in a run in the 3rd
inning, doubled bringing in two baserunners in the 6th inning and smacked a
single which scored a run in the 8th inning. Offensively, Pittsburgh was a
juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings.

The win went to Harmon(10-4) who allowed 3 runs in the game. Lee Meadows(7-5)
was hit with the loss. He was unable to control the Pittsburgh offense and
allowed 13 hits and 6 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.

'I've spent a lot of time in the cage and made some adjustments and they've
paid off,' Wagner said. 'I just take the same approach up there. I don't
overanalyze it. I go up there, see the ball and try to put a good swing on
it.'
