In a close game it was the Chicago-NL Cubs 6, the Philadelphia-AL Athletics 4
at Shibe Park.

Chicago-NL came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 9th inning plating
2 runs on 2 base hits.  Pee Wee Reese got things going when he drew a walk.
Ferris Fain stepped into the batter's box and he stroked a base-hit.  Fain
took second on the throw.  After an out was recorded, Toby Atwell then ripped
a single scoring two teammates.  Both teams ended up with 9 hits on the
night.  

The victory went to Willie Ramsdell(2-1) who went 2 and 2/3 innings, allowing
no runs. Al Brazle earned the save, his 4th.  Joe Nuxhall(2-4) was hit with
the loss in relief.
